Job Description:
Our Ottawa based client is looking for a Enterprise Architect for a contract position. Contract running from date of award to March 31, 2010. With two additional one year optional periods.
All candidates must possess Secret Clearance.
Tasks for the Enterprise Architect may include, but will not be limited to the following:
-Review existing OSFI IM/IT standards documentation.
-Transfer knowledge acquired in Track 1 to the Programmer/Analyst in preparation for Track 2 tasks.
-Recommend (based on requirements gathered in Tasks Preliminary to Track 1 and 2, the Enterprise Rationalization track and the Internet Portal Rationalization track) technologies, standards, architecture/design patterns and other best practices facilitating the application rationalization effort.
-Collaborate with the Programmer/Analyst to recommend concrete, achievable prototyping tasks, to be designed, implemented and unit tested by the Programmer/Analyst. These should be consistent with the intent of this track (as described above) and with recommendations produced by the Application Portfolio Rationalization Study.
-Ensure that the work tasks identified for this track are correctly integrated into the Application Portfolio Rationalization Study Project Plan with dependencies and levels of effort per skill set.
-Communicate the track plan and deliverables to the Programmer/Analyst.
-Monitor and direct the progress of the Programmer/Analyst in the successful completion of work tasks in the plan, providing mentorship and support as required.
-Arrange for and lead demonstrations of prototypes implemented by the Programmer/Analyst.
-Arrange for and lead knowledge transfer sessions and technical hand-off of the functional prototypes (and other work products in this track) to IM/IT staff.

The ideal candidate will have::
a minimum of 10 years of experience in the Information Technology area architecting enterprise-level solutions and expressing the solutions as logical and implementation level architectural modelshave worked in the role of Enterprise Architect for a public or private sector organization within the last 24 monthshave a minimum of 1 year of experience in the last 8 years rationalizing application portfolios in the public or private sectorhave a minimum of 2 relevant projects in the last 8 years in which he/she has, 1. Tailored an application rationalization methodology (such as that identified in mandatory requirement M.3.) to a public or private organization’s needs, and, Lead an application portfolio rationalization projecthave a minimum of 2 years of experience in the last 8 years architecting solutions that included Microsoft productshave a minimum of 2 projects in the last 5 years architecting solutions which included Microsoft .NET technologies. An acceptable project is one in which the architected solution received sign-off, or other formal acceptance, from the clientexperience in a minimum of 2 projects in the last 5 years successfully developing a rationalization strategy and associated roadmap that included sun-setting, renewal and/or consolidation of applications within an enterprise application portfolioexperience on a minimum of 1 project in the last 8 years that included rationalization of at least one of the following categories of systemsa minimum of six months of experience within the last 5 years architecting solutions within a Business Intelligence (BI) environment (e.g., one employing a data warehouse and data marts for reporting and OLAP analysis
